Dr. Bhaskar Bhuyan is an Assamese scholar, writer, editor, and academic administrator with specialization in Assamese epistle literature and Comparative Indian Literature. He earned his Ph.D. in 2024 from the Department of Modern Indian Languages and Literary Studies, Gauhati University. He completed both his undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Assamese from North Lakhimpur College (Autonomous).
He is currently serving as Assistant Professor at Gauhati University, Department of Modern Indian Languages and Literary Studies (from 2026). He previously served as Regional Director of Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (KKHSOU), Lakhimpur (2025), Guest Faculty (Part-time), Department of Assamese, Tezpur University (2024), and Assistant Professor (Part-time), Department of Assamese, Krishna Kanta Handiqui State Open University (2025).
Dr. Bhuyan is the author of two significant books—Internetot Asomiya Bhasha Aru Annyanya Prabandha (2022) and Tulanatmak Sahitya: Prayogik Chintan (2025)—and has edited several scholarly volumes. Since 2018, he has been actively associated with Assamese Wikipedia and engaged in Wikimedia projects to enrich and strengthen the presence of the Assamese language in the digital domain. He is presently serving as the Chief Editor of Asomiya Sahitya Sanmilani and is a recipient of the Yuva Lekhak Sanman (2025).
